NEW EQUIPMENT SATISFIES HIGHER CLIENT DEMAND FOR SILVER PRODUCTS
April 20, 2014…Photofabrication Engineering, Inc. (PEI) of Milford, MA, recently added additional high-capacity photoetching machinery to help meet increased demand for etched silver products from customers in both the Decorative and Precision Division markets. The new equipment gives PEI the ability to manufacture silver products in volume with the exceptional uniformity and consistency offered by PEI’s photochemical machining process. PEI’s expertise in this process allows customers to order any quantity they need, from prototypes to production quantities in the hundreds of thousands, with low tooling costs. Even the most intricate designs and patterns can be photoetched into the silver.
With the expansion of our production capabilities for silver findings and parts, PEI can offer turnarounds as short as 5 days after receipt of purchase order. Our fast turnaround times allow customers of both the Decorative and Precision Product Divisions to get their products to market faster than other manufacturing methods, all while meeting the highest level of quality. Don’t just take our word for it: PEI has met or exceeded the requirements for certification under a broad range of internationally-recognized quality control and testing standards. We audit not only our own processes, equipment, and delivery statistics, but those of our suppliers as well.
Customers for PEI’s etched sterling silver generally come from the jewelry, ornament, educational and non-profit industries, and are serviced by the Decorative Division sales and manufacturing staff. Decorative items range from bookmarks to ornaments, business cards to invitations. PEI’s Precision Product Division produces silver component parts for a wide range of industrial products including silver preforms and fuse elements for heater manufacturers, to name a few.
PEI prides itself in always listening to and meeting customer’s needs. As it became apparent that customer demand for etching parts in silver was ever-increasing, “It was an easy decision to expand our silver etching capability in light of the demand from both Precision and Decorative Product customers,” says Chip Lehrer, President of PEI.
